Personal Artwork
This is a page for artwork projects done beyond the scope of my usual clients.
The first section is for a few more caricatures I’ve done, for either myself or friends…
The first is a caricature of myself done on christmas day 2004. I came in to do some work but didn’t feel much like working…
The second is my friend Mari. I penciled this, scanned it in and then created the shapes using illustrator and rendered it using photoshop and pattern brushes I created. And since someone asked about reference photos, here are 2 of Mari …
The third is my friend Jarek done using acrylic washes on paper. And here is a photo of him as well…
This is a series of caricatures done for the Patent Beasts owner, Robert Fish through July of 2009. These are the various lawyers, paralegals and other people working in his office.
Next I have a few life drawing samples…
Here is a character that I did for a project that I didn’t use. Everyone liked him better than the one that DID get used, but the other one fit the parameters better. So I painted this guy using some watercolors.
This next series is a set of acrylic paintings I did. I built up the base using modeling paste to make thick textures and then layered acrylic washes in ever darker layers. The wet paint runs off the peaks and puddles in the recesses to give a pretty cool effect, and layering the colors in a range adds some depth to the effect. These pics don’t really do the paintings justice.
And these are a few ink washes I have done to test dark and light in drawing the eye to certain areas of a layout.
