I began working on LeapFrog books in 1998 through a connection with another freelance illustrator, and before long I was contracting directly with LeapFrog. Over the next 18 years, I completed approximately 30 projects for the company.
Much of my work featured LeapFrog’s own characters, but I also illustrated projects involving Doodleburg and a variety of licensed properties, including Dora the Explorer, Jake and the Never Land Pirates, The Backyardigans, The Penguins of Madagascar, Kung Fu Panda, and Up.
The work required me to adapt to established character styles while producing finished illustrations that fit the needs of each book and project.

Top left: A pencil spread from Rainy Day Play. The team at LeapFrog’s Emeryville headquarters liked the artwork enough that the characters were enlarged and produced as hanging displays.
