Illustration- Conceptual

When I joined the firm, the partner already had several pieces of “fishart” displayed on the walls. Another artist had developed the idea of transforming black-and-white patent drawings into full-color vector artwork, and I decided to take that concept in a more dimensional direction.

Inspired by layered paper illustration, I treated the individual sections of the patent drawings as separate visual planes. I combined the linework and traditional patent-drawing shading techniques with vibrant color, then arranged the elements to give the impression that the viewer is seeing the invention from a three-dimensional angle.

The piece at the bottom right was created differently. For that image, I rebuilt the refrigeration motor in Blender and used the model’s wireframe structure as part of the finished illustration.
